Friday night drinks.....lead to severe UTI!

First let me start off by saying, we have never done the party til ya drop for New Years Eve! On Friday, Nichole and my god daughter Beth Ann and I went out for drinks.  Nothing fancy, I just felt like having a frozen Margarita.  So we went, had a grand time.  On Saturday, I went to the gym and worked out and then ran errands for most of the day.  The one little very important thing that I forgot to do was DRINK WATER!  I was so dehydrated it was not even funny.  My band was tight beyond belief.

When I posted yesterday morning, I was about to get up and go for my swim.  Something derailed that though, I began having full blown symptoms of a urinary tract infection.  Now let me tell you, I have had enough of these over the years that I know when one is coming on.  This one was going to be bad, right from the get go I could tell.  Alan went right away and got me some cranberry juice, the urgency got worse and worse.  So I called the Dr. and they ordered some antibiotics and pain meds.  They were so concerned about me that the nurse on call actually called me three hours later to check on me.  I was in tears, could not leave the bathroom.  I began to chill, I got sick at my stomach.  Within two hours I had blood in my urine.  WOW, had I only drank water like I know I should especially when drinking alcohol.

So I spent yesterday in bed literally all day.  I am off today and thank God because I still feel like crap.  I am still sick to my stomach.  Lucky I will not be doing much at all today.  I will plan on making my families favorite Kristin Meal however.....Pasta Shrimp Sonoma!  It is amazing.

I hope I will feel up to that later.  For now, I am heading back to bed, and more sleep.  I really want to go to Zumba tonight, but not sure I can make it.

My goodness - I'm sorry you had such a terrible UTI. That's awful - I hope you 're feeling better soon. And keep on running!! You just have to make yourself - and as long as you're consistent - it becomes easy! The key is just getting it done! Today is my rest day - so no running. My legs are tired anyway - so its a good thing. Tomorrow its intervals on the track to build speed!

Oh man, UTIs suck big time. Glad you caught it before it got worse! Feel better soon. :)
